Stamping with Pat C

Well, I didn't promise ...

I had another bout of illness but feeling better, so I will try again.

The main thing I wanted to do was be sure that you got a chance to look over the retiring stamps, accessories and decor elements. Don't be too alarmed by all of the 12 X 12 card stock on the list. My understanding is that Stampin' Up! is going back to the all plain or all textured in a pack - not the half & half. Glad to see that one. Okay, I give up for tonight. I haven't been able to get the links to work, but until I get it figured out, you can always go to my web site: (www.patchastain.stampinup.net) and check it out.

I do have some things to share with you that I've done lately and I will try to get those on here in the next couple of days. I know, I know - you've heard that before.

I finally made it back!

About every three or four years, I get this urge to re-organize and clean out things. My hubby says I'm relentless until I get done or get exhausted. Well exhaustion is winning this time. The garage is killing me!

But I have had time to work and play some in between ravageing closets, draws and cabinets. The first card I'm sharing with you is "cased" from my up-line, Margie Anderson. Thanks Margie - I owe you lunch. A great punch art class.

    

The second card is a technique that I saw on someone's blog and can't remember whose (and probably threw out the sheet on it, knowing me). It's a simple technique: fold a handi-wipe a couple of times and place it in a non-porous item - I used a cheap pie tin. Next you drop the re-inker colors of your choice for your project onto the handi-wipe. I used More Mustard, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and a touch of Chocolate Chip. Then you stamp directly onto the handi-wipe and onto your card stock. I made about 15 cards without reinking so it is very cost effective. After the handi-wipe dried out, I tried to add water to remoisten it but it wasn't very successful. Maybe if I had added some glycerin, it might work. Anyway here's the card. Hope you like it.

 

My last two are Christmas cards. The first one I won a WOW! award at our Spaghetti Factory meeting in September. That's Sandy Hancock's downline meeting and I'm lucky enough to be in her group. Great lady!

The first card is very vintage, which was fun. Definitely not a workshop card. Neither is the second one. Actually, it was a mistake but I liked most of it anyway, so sharing it with you. I think it has possibilites, but needs some work.

 

And the mistake  . . . .

   Front of card - fine - the inside flap - fine but what the heck was I doing that I added a second inside? Not very successfully at that. Not to mention that it's stamped crocked. Darn gremlins around here anyway. They are next on my list of things to get rid of!

 
Hopefully, it won't be so long before I'm back. Oh and if you get a chance to hope over to Facebook, you can see some pics from the Halloween Party we had a the ranch. Great spook house. Heard grown men squeal like little girls! (I was pretty scary so that helped.)

                                                  

 

 

 

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Things have been busy around here. Mostly working on lots of fun projects. I really do love the Fall and Winter holidays. From October through December is the very best time of the year. Lots of good fellowship, good family and friends time, good food and a sense of all being right with my world.

Couple of new projects I've completed as well as what I did with the Halloween House. The photo is not real good, but that just adds to the scary look. Right?

Now a fewfun photos from our New Mini Shoe Box Swap. I want to thank Molly Fyvie for hosting us at her beautiful new home. What a treat that was! We had a wonderful time and are already planning a Christmas Party, card and ornament exchange.

 

 

That's enough for now. I will try to get some of the cards from our swap in the next couple of days as well as a few from the Spaghetti Factory / Sandy Hancock meeting. Sure am seeing some wonderful, creative ideas.

Finally, I'm back! And I think I've almost caught up with the world. We'll see.

At Convention, Brent Steele (going to miss him), demonstrated this fun project and I knew I had to do it. So here it is. Fun to make and surprisingly, didn't take too long. Once you've figured out the house construction, everything goes pretty quick.

Finally!

My Blog and I have been at odds with each other but I think I finally got it fixed. (HOPE)

I'm sure you've heard by now how wonderful convention was this year. Just seeing the unbelievable Sweet Shop was worth the trip. And the demonstrations and classes were the best I've seen.

I do have my swaps up in the workshop for all to see but this morning I'm just going to show you two of my swaps and one of Margie Anderson's. Margie is my Up-line and my Convention Travel Companion. Yes we had fun and yes we stopped at Cracker Barrel going up and coming back.

The first card is Margie's and the next two are mine. A few very heartwarming stories concerning the "Courage" card.

I'm back - a little sad but back

Some of you may remember that our dear and long time friend, Joe passed away a couple of months ago. Three weeks ago, his son, Joe Jr. passed away and Saturday, Joe's wife Carolyn - passed away. It has not been a happy time except that they are in a better place and no longer suffering. They will be missed.

So bear with me for a couple of day and I'll spring back.

Now the good news - my daughter, Lori and son-in-law, Alan are coming out for a visit in March. I CAN'T WAIT! It's been a while since we got to see Alan and he is a love, so it will be a good visit - just not long enough.

I think I'm going to make it!

For the first time in almost a week, I feel like I'm alive. I think "24 hour virus" is an urban myth. It was a bad one but once again, I survived. Now on to happier matters.

I'm looking forward to getting my groove back. I came back from Leadership in Phoenix so excited about all of the great information and ideas we received and anxious to share all of this with my "girls". Just  a minor hitch, a brief delay. Things are quickly returning to normal (whatever that is).

I'm not a big one for making New Year's Resdolutions, but I did promise myself that I would post on my blog more often, maybe even daily! I guess I'll just have to post twice on some days to catch up. So starting almost immediately, start looking for for more interesting and exciting posts that this one.

Leadership Photo

Leadership was absolutely wonderful this year. The classes, the speakers, the sharing and caring, manager's reception - just everything. Even the weather was awesome.

I've been so busy since I got home - just trying to finish up my annual clear out, put away, throw away and reorganize - thing I do. I really should have posted before now, but haven't, so please forgive me. I'll do better.
